What to Wear — A Maternity Guide

I get this question more than any other. What should I wear? My answer is almost always the same: something that moves.

The body in maternity is doing something extraordinary. The clothing should witness that, not contain it. I look for fabrics with weight and drape — silk crepe, washed linen, fine merino. I avoid anything that grips, anything with hardware, anything that asks the body to perform.

Color, I keep low-saturation and tonal. Bone, oat, fawn, the palest sage, the deepest ink. A long cream slip dress will outlast every trend. A simple white men's button-down, oversized, worn open over a soft bralette, photographs as well in ten years as it does today.
